Privacy Policy

Who We Are

Zeigners LLC is a private, members-only alert service for rare and allocated spirits. We send email notifications to members when bottles on their watchlist appear in stock at participating retailers. This policy describes what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights with respect to it.

What We Collect

We collect only what is necessary to operate the alert service:

Email address — used to authenticate your account and deliver alerts. Required for membership.
Display name — optional, provided during onboarding. Used for personalisation within the service.
Watchlist preferences — the bottle names, categories, distilleries, brands, proof ranges, age ranges, and price ceilings you configure. This is the core of the service.
Alert history — a record of which alerts were sent, when, and for which listings. Used to prevent duplicate notifications and to monitor service quality.
Email engagement data — whether an alert email was opened or a link was clicked, as reported by our email delivery provider. Used solely to understand whether alerts are reaching members and to measure service health.
Session data — authentication tokens stored in cookies to keep you signed in. These are managed by Supabase Auth and are not used for tracking or analytics.

We do not collect payment information, track your browsing activity, or use advertising pixels of any kind.

How We Use Your Data

Your data is used for one purpose: operating the Zeigners alert service for you. Specifically:

Sending you email alerts when watchlist matches are found
Authenticating your access to the service
Preventing duplicate alerts
Understanding aggregate service health (e.g. match rates, delivery success)

We do not use your data for marketing, profiling, or any purpose unrelated to the alert service. We do not sell personal data.

Who We Share Data With

We share your data with two third-party processors, both strictly necessary to operate the service:

Supabase (supabase.com) — our database and authentication provider. Your account data and watchlist preferences are stored in a Supabase-managed PostgreSQL database hosted on AWS. Supabase does not have the right to use your data for any purpose other than providing their services to us.
Resend (resend.com) — our transactional email provider. Your email address and the content of each alert are passed to Resend solely for delivery. Resend also reports basic engagement events (opens, clicks) back to us.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with any other party.

Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion, we will remove your personal data — including your email address, display name, watchlist items, and alert history — within 30 days.

We may retain anonymised, aggregate data (e.g. how many alerts were sent in a given month) that cannot be traced back to you.

Security

Your data is encrypted in transit via TLS and at rest by Supabase. Access to your account data is restricted by row-level security policies — only your own data is accessible to your session. Authentication is handled via secure email links; no passwords are stored.

No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We maintain reasonable technical measures and will notify affected members in the event of a data breach.

Your Rights

You have the right to:

Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you
Request correction of inaccurate data
Request deletion of your account and all associated data
Withdraw consent (which for this service means cancelling membership)

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy as the service evolves. We will notify active members of material changes by email. Continued use of the service after such notice constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
